Abstract



The aims of this research were: to study the condition and ways of administration of Phrapariyatti schools (general section) under the National Office of Buddhism in Udonthani province. This mixed method research had its samples including 152 educational administrators and teachers while the key informants were 12 of those, selected the purposive sampling. The tools used in data collecting were a questionnaire and an interview form. The statistics used in data analysis were: Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation while the qualitative data were interpreted by the descriptive analysis.

The research results were as follows:

1) The mean scores of administration based in the principles of Threefold Learning (tisikkhā) of Phrapariyatti schools (general section) under the National Office of Buddhism in Udonthani province in overall and each aspect perspectives were rated at a high level. The highest one can be seen in the aspect of ‘Financial administration based on the Threefold Learning’, followed by that of ‘Personnel administration based on the Threefold Learning’, ‘General affairs administration based on the Threefold Learning’ and ‘Academic affairs administration based in the Threefold Learning’ respectively.

2) The ways to improve the administration of Phrapariyatti schools (general section) under the National Office of Buddhism in Udonthani province are that 1) there should be the reliable and correct system of measurement and evaluation; 2) teacher supervision to work effectively; 3) development and promotion to have the effective learning resources; 4) appropriate accounting plan; 5) standard and systematic educational resource management; 6) systematic management of income-payment and savings; 7) teacher and educational personnel development to increase their competency at work; 8) continuous assessment of teachers and educational personnel; 9) effective operation of monthly income increase of teachers and educational personnel; 10) constant support of teacher and educational personnel evaluation; 11) research to develop the policies and strategies of educational institutes; 12) continuous development of working standards of teachers and educational personnel.
